The US Library of Congress and Twitter have reached an agreement to archive each and every public Twitter post in the library’s repository of historical documents.

This includes the consequential and the decidedly mundane, all billions and billions worth.

So if you Tweet, up the quality of your deep thoughts. Your 140 character musings now have a place alongside Abraham Lincoln’s civil war papers, historic American newspapers since 1690 and slave narratives from the Federal Writers’ Project.
